It\u2019s broken down into components that are absorbed into the bloodstream and transported to the cells where they are needed. Proteins are disassembled into amino acids; carbohydrates to glucose; and fats to free fatty acids.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This process of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">transforming<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> complex molecules into simpler ones is dependent on the presence and action of enzymes.
