{"id":6299,"date":"2014-07-31T13:55:37","date_gmt":"2014-07-31T20:55:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fxnutrition.com\/?p=6299"},"modified":"2025-08-28T15:30:02","modified_gmt":"2025-08-28T15:30:02","slug":"dishing-up-my-daily-dose","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fxnutrition.com\/blog\/dishing-up-my-daily-dose","title":{"rendered":"Dishing up my daily dose"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>What&#8217;s on my plate this month?<\/h2>\n<p>cleansing with intention<br \/>\nSometimes your daily dose is a lot to swallow.<br \/>\nI don&#8217;t mean all that&#8217;s on your plate ~ work, family, health and more.<br \/>\nAnd I&#8217;m not even referring to the vitamin C, vitamin D, CoQ10, etc. etc. that you may choose to wash down each day.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s your fruits and veggie intake that I&#8217;m thinking about.<br \/>\nAnd mine too!<br \/>\nThat&#8217;s why I&#8217;ve been spending the past week dipping into the crisper, getting ready for the <a href=\"https:\/\/fxnutrition.com\/cleanses\/summer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Refresh Cleanse<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>But wait, check this out:<\/h2>\n<p>The USDA guidelines (which vary by sex, age and activity level) recommend\u00a0<strong>1 \u00bd to 2 cups fruit per day<\/strong>\u00a0plus\u00a0<strong>2 \u00bd to 3 cups of veggies per day<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<strong>examples of 1 cup fruit:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 medium apple or peach<\/li>\n<li>1 cup blueberries<\/li>\n<li>8 large strawberries<\/li>\n<li>1 cup fresh\u00a0<em>(let&#8217;s make that fresh pressed!)<\/em>\u00a0juice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>examples of 1 cup veggies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup raw or cooked veggies<\/li>\n<li>1 cup fresh juice\u00a0<em>(again, let&#8217;s make that fresh pressed!)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>2 cups leafy greens<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The USDA&#8217;s &#8220;My Plate&#8221; advocates filling\u00a0<strong>half your plate<\/strong>\u00a0with garden goodies.<br \/>\nIn the last decade, perhaps because of our national decline in health, the Dietary Guidelines for Americans has been increased from 5-9 servings of day of fruits and veggies to\u00a0<strong>5-13 servings a day<\/strong>.<br \/>\nYou could look at it in a number of ways, but if the portions don&#8217;t add up for you, the consequences do&hellip;<br \/>\n(We&#8217;ll be talking about some of those consequences and sharing tips on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/fxnalliance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Replenish Facebook Page<\/a> over the next couple of weeks.
